The project was a design challenge undertaken for GRA 205, where the task was to create an impactful call-to-action poster aimed at promoting animal welfare and adoption. The objective was to draw attention and evoke a sense of responsibility among the viewers through compelling visual elements and persuasive design techniques.

Visual Strategy

The poster utilizes a blend of organic shapes and curving lines to represent the spots of a dog, integrating the silhouette of a dog into the heart-shaped logo of the organization was intended to symbolize love and care for animals.

Logo & Brand Mark

The logo for the "Dog Spots" campaign features a distinctive brand mark that encapsulates the essence of the organization's mission and values. Central to the logo is the silhouette of a dog's head, seamlessly integrated within a heart shape. This design symbolizes the core of the campaign—compassion and love for dogs. The heart not only represents care and affection but also acts as a universal sign of charity and support, aligning with the organization's humanitarian goals.

Color Palette

Monochrome & Complementary Scheme: The logo and poster utilize the campaign's primary color palette of green-blue and orange. The green-blue hue, cool and calming, establishes a backdrop that highlights the light orange used for the dog's silhouette. This contrast not only draws attention but also reinforces the energetic and playful character of the campaign.

THE OUTCOME

The poster is designed with versatility in mind, ensuring it is effective across various media. It maintains its integrity whether displayed in large formats or smaller applications like digital ads and social media. The design adheres to good practices regarding scalability and clear space, ensuring it remains legible and impactful in every use case.
